Azadirachta indica attenuates airway inflammation and oxidative stress in the asthmatic mice

Azadirachta indica Linn (A. indica), is a marvelous traditional Indian medicine with key therapeutics role in health management. Studies have revealed the anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antioxidative of A. indica. Inflammatory immune cells generate high level ROS for stimulated severe AHR airway inflammation. Therefore, present study designed to investigate ameliorating potentiality leaves extract OVA-induced lung injury, inflammation oxidative stress. BALB/c mice were sensitized ovalbumin (OVA) induce asthma symptoms prednisolone was used as standard drug treatment. The animals divided into six groups: Group I: Untreated control mice, II: Ova-induced asthmatic III: Prednisolone treated ova-induced IV: Vehicle V: (100mg/kgBW/day) VI: (200mg/kgBW/day) mice. Mice sacrificed by cervical dislocation 24 hrs after last challenge. Further, broncheoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), serum lungs collected cell count, activity EPO, generation, enzyme activities, histology lungs. results expressed bronchoconstriction group marked elevated total differential count. antioxidant activities also altered enhanced production. alterations observed significantly ameliorated following treatment leaf compared drug, group. findings suggest therapeutic future.
